The public communication of science is one of the skills of scientific literacy, it includes the set of communicative activities that are used to transmit the processes, knowledge and results of the academic work of scientists. The Covid-19 pandemic places us in an urgent context, in which the importance of knowing and understanding scientific information becomes indispensable in society in general. Scientists must be prepared to communicate their results trough various skills such as argumentation, the appropiate use of lenguaje, as well as written, visual an oral formats, the appropiate use of information that through the public communication of science allow to inform, train, sensitize, empower or even entertain to generate the social appropiation of science. The scientists not only dedícate their activity to the dissemination of science, the public communication of science, contributes to welfare of society; by training informed citizens to make decisión that improve their quality of life. This requires that scientists in training are preapared to communicate in an accesible language, explain scientific concepts to the population. There is an urgent need for more outreach, science education and science journalism activities to be carried out in Mexico that provide citizens with useful information and contribute to living in a complete state of physical, mental and social well-being
