Plagiarism Detection Policies

Cuidado Multidisciplinario de la Salud BUAP uses Turnitin software to detect possible text similarities in submitted manuscripts before they undergo academic peer review using the double- or triple-blind method. This review is not limited solely to using the software for such detection; rather, a personalized analysis of each submitted manuscript is conducted to ensure that this process is not automated. The goal of the text similarity review is to prevent plagiarism in academic articles and to contribute to academic integrity. The established similarity threshold is 15–20% for each manuscript; if a higher percentage is detected, the manuscript is rejected at this initial stage.
