With globalization and technological advances, electronic vote is an option to make electoral processes agile, efficient, practical and precise, as well as being safe, safeguarding at all times the constitutional principles of suffrage. Mexico has begun with the use of electronic vote through the electronic ballot box and online vote. Some local electoral bodies have contributed to the development of electronic ballot boxes, bringing binding electoral processes to the local and federal levels. Recent experience with online vote has been gained, however, this is limited because only Mexicans living abroad are considered voters. Both modalities lack legislative harmony but are not unconstitutional. The purpose of this work is to make visible the state that keeps the electronic vote in Mexico, as well as the electoral experiences and advances that have been made at the legislative, administrative and jurisdictional levels without losing sight of the opinions and needs that exist in social reality.
