In this work, mixed research was carried out to document the ways of working of farmers in the town of San Simón Atzitzintla (Puebla, Mexico) regarding the use of pesticides. In-depth interviews and antibody-based assays for the detection of glyphosate herbicide in water were applied. The results show that local people apply pesticides on their crops based on guidance from family members and agrochemical sellers, with little follow-up of instructions for correct use in both application and final disposal.
