Abstract

Chromatography as we know it today is the result of the work of many scientists. However, the Russian scientist Mikhail Semionovich Tsvet is regarded as the method's discoverer because he was the first to correctly explain and provide the foundations of the method, as well as to give it the name "chromography." In the words of Stanford University botanist Strain, Tsvet was destined to influence the lives of men and animals on earth.
