Cross to the Other Side of the Night or the Practice of the "Long-Winded Poem"

Abstract

In this work is will present some considerations and experiences about writing that concerns the call long breath poem, especially as the author of Acts of Midnight. Also, it is not intended to present analysis or conclusions in theoretical sense about this poem, but to propose it as an exercise, a writing experience that oscillates, first, between writing without destination or structure, then, until it leads to its consequent formal adjustment.

Author Biography

Víctor Rodríguez Núñez, Kenyon College, Estados Unidos

Víctor Rodríguez Núñez (Havana, Cuba, 1955) is a poet, journalist, critic, translator and professor. He has published sixteen books of poetry, almost all of them awarded and republished, the most recent being Enseguida [o la gota de sangre en el nivel] (RIL-Ærea, 2018). Anthologies of his work have appeared in ten Spanish-speaking countries, and in translations into German, Arabic, Chinese, Korean, French, Hebrew, English, Italian, Macedonian, Serbian, and Swedish. Doctor in Hispanic Literatures from the University of Texas at Austin, he is professor of that specialty at Kenyon College, United States.
