The aim of this work is to study the allocation of genetic resources to the vegetable organs of six varieties of purple sweet potato from various origins in the community of San Félix Hidalgo in Atlixco, Puebla. The results show a response in the sweet potato variety with the allocation of resources to the different plant organs. Both the agronomic management and the environment where plants grow influence the ability of plants to adapt, which is reflected upon the allocation of resources to the various plant organs. The varieties from Santa Isabel Cholula and Santa María showed the highest percentage of allocation of genetic resources to the sweet potato tuber.
