The curricular inclusion of chess in the degree in International Relations at Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla
Abstract
This essay sets out a set of antecedents that place chess as a subject or tool capable of contributing to the scope of the competencies of a bachelor´s degree. Subsequently, it is proposed that the development of deep analytical thinking and decision-making in the degree in International Relations at the BUAP can be more effective if chess is used as an additional instrument to achieve the competencies of the graduate profile of this. To make it, the concepts of cognition and metacognition are tales up in the first instance; secondly, the cognitive and metacognitive competences that are enunciated in the graduation profile; thirdly, the characteristics of chess that can be related to these and, finally, how chess could influence the improvement of these competences towards the graduation profile.
